The Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) 2024 was, once again, a fantastic event, bringing together leaders and innovators from across the aerospace industry. This year’s show featured cutting-edge technology, groundbreaking announcements, and global delegations, all focused on the future of aerospace. Here’s a recap of everything you may have missed, including highlights from Plyable!
Component Parts from Plyable
The big news from Plyable at FIA was our expansion into component parts production, showcasing how our AI-driven design technology is setting new standards in manufacturing. This development not only enhances our service offerings but also integrates seamlessly with existing processes, reducing lead times and costs for our customers.
The team was also on stage with Sales Director Elaine Winchester, speaking on a panel about diversity in the aerospace industry. Plyable CEO Martin Oughton and CTO Luke Hunter also spoke on Day 3 about Plyable’s proprietary Automated Mold Design Software.
Innovation with Aerospace Xelerated
Plyable’s stand was at the Aerospace Xelerated pavilion, which attracted a constant stream of visitors throughout the week. Alongside Plyable, other Aerospace Xelerated portfolio businesses showcased their products. These included AR Engineering who are using augmented reality to change the way we interact and learn, and Signol who are using behavioural science to reduce fuel consumption in aviation. It was fantastic to be part of the AX experience at Farnborough.
Meeting with Global Delegations
FIA 2024 attracted delegations from around the world who were looking to not only purchase but also offer their services. At Plyable, we are always looking to expand and strengthen our supply chain network, and the interactions at Farnborough provided valuable opportunities to discuss partnerships and collaborations. We are excited about the potential to add new, high-quality suppliers to our network, further enhancing our service capabilities.
Showcasing Innovation: Aerospace Suppliers and eVTOLs
The airshow also featured a variety of aerospace suppliers showcasing innovative products and solutions. Among them was Joby Aviation, attending FIA for the first time. Their stand was one of the most impressive, featuring a mature eVTOL design that attendees could interact with and even get inside. Volt Aero also made a splash, showcasing their aircraft outside, highlighting advancements in sustainable aviation technology.
Space Pavilion: Exploring the Final Frontier
The Space Pavilion was another highlight of the event, showcasing the latest in space technology and hardware. The exhibits provided fascinating insights into the cutting-edge advancements driving the space industry forward. It was an excellent demonstration of innovation in this exciting sector.
